Be whisked away and through the world’s largest Ponderosa pine forest as you are transported back in time aboard historic rail cars pulled by mighty diesel locomotives.
Covering 65 miles of restored track, you will experience the two hour journey in luxury and style. Enjoy traditional entertainment from the strolling musicians, cowboys and other Railway characters re-creating that authentic Old West atmosphere. Once the Grand Canyon Railway arrives at the Grand Canyon Depot – a historic, 100 year old structure and the only log depot still in use, guests can feel free to enjoy the relaxing, panoramic views of Grand Canyon at their leisure. Many activities are available for guests including hikes on the Bright Angel Trail, delicious dining at one of the many Southern Rim Restaurants, or a scenic motor coach rim tour. Activities packages are available for advance purchase with Railway packages or available on site at any South Rim Transportation Desk.
The Grand Canyon Railway departs Williams Depot at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 5:45 p.m. Don't forget to arrive early because 30 minutes before each train departure there’s a Wild West shootout between Marshal Goodmore and the Cataract Creek Gang! This shootout always delivers loads of laughs and Western gun-slinging action; don't miss it!
